Aiming High for Disabled Children: Improving data.

Overview

In 2009 the Department of Health commissioned York Health Economics Consortium (YHEC) to look at how data about disabled children is collected, managed and used at a local level. The report was entitled Aiming high for disabled children: improving data. Karin Lowson, who lead the project for YHEC, will lead this workshop which will look at the following:

  • applying lessons learned from the national study at a local level
  • using the data pathway tool
  • how sites may use this as a tool in conjunction with the report findings to tackle local problems

Outcomes

At the end of the workshop delegates will...

  • have a better understanding of the issues to do with data protection in relation to disabled children
  • have had the opportunity to discuss the issues to do with joined up data (or not)
  • have explored the problems for planning
