Commissioning weight management interventions: the importance of evaluation.

Overview

This will be an interactive workshop discussing commissioning weight management intervention for children. It will provide:

• A broad overview of the evidence for commissioners
• Introduce the concepts and importance of evaluation, including an introduction to the NOO Standard Evaluation Framework (SEF) for weight management interventions
• A forum to discuss the practicalities of commissioning and evaluation: sharing best practice and discussing barriers and facilitators.

Anyone with an interest or involvement in obesity commissioning.

Outcomes

At the end of the workshop delegates will...

• Understand the evidence base underpinning commissioning of childhood weight management interventions
• Understand the importance of evaluation in the commissioning process
• Understand the Standard Evaluation Framework
• Have experienced the opportunity to share best practise and discuss barriers and facilitators to the commissioning process.
