ChiMat Conference - Predictive Modelling

PREview: supporting progressive universal prevention and early intervention programmes.

Overview

PREview is a new predictive modelling tool that looks at maternal socio-economic and healthcare data, and uses joined up thinking to address the future needs of the child. A population tool is being developed to aid commissioners in mapping the population against future outcomes, and proactively plan the provision of prevention and early intervention services accordingly. PREview supports decision making at team and community level (including PBCs).

It supports professionals to match the Healthy Child Programme and other preventive services, with those indicators that signal future outcomes for individual children and families. It enables parents to think about their child's future and plan what services can do to help them to maximise their child's potential.

Who should attend

Commissioners, Heads of Midwifery, Health Visitor leads, GPs, anyone who works with children or with an interest in predictive modelling

Outcomes

At the end of the workshop delegates will be given an insight into how predictive modelling uses rigorous academic research to inform decision making, enabling high quality services, as well as being highly innovative in its approach. Delegates will have a better understanding of predictive modelling and how it will help commissioners and practitioners to be more productive and to aid progressive universal prevention.
