Mental health: Mental Health Act
Information about the Mental Health Act, including resources relating to the age appropriate settings. The Mental Health Act 2007 includes an amendment to the Mental Health Act 1983 which places a duty on Hospital Managers to ensure that under-18 year olds who require admission due to mental health problems are placed in an environment which is suitable for their age (subject to their need). The aim of the amendment is to eliminate inappropriate admission to adult mental health wards.
