Maternity: ChiMat tools and services

ChiMat has developed a range of resources to support maternity service improvement.

Outcomes versus Expenditure Tool - Maternity and Newborn allows you to pinpoint opportunities to improve the quality of outcomes and productivity for maternity services in your local area.

Service Snapshot - Infant Mortality new, Service Snapshot - Maternity and Service Snapshot - Teenage Pregnancy provides a summary of demand, provision and outcomes for services in a particular area. It combines data from ChiMat and the Children’s Services Mapping programme.

Self Assessment Tool – Maternity new helps commissioners, clinical and managerial leads for maternity services to assess progress against standards.

Needs Assessment Report – Maternity provides evidence-based information on prevalence, incidence and risk factors affecting children’s health and the provision of healthcare services. These support you in undertaking needs assessments as part of children’s and young people’s planning and joint strategic needs assessments.

Breastfeeding Profiles have been developed for each PCT in England which describes demographic, breastfeeding behaviour and health outcome data for mothers and their children in that area.

Data Atlas brings together a range of data and statistics on child and maternal health into one easily accessible hub. It has been recently redeveloped to make it easier to use and interpret and includes updated data for maternity.

Maternity Service Liaison Committees (MSLC) website is hosted by ChiMat and provides information, contacts, policy updates and news to support the work of MSLCs and their members.
