Description:
This course is for anybody who is managing or supporting a child or young person who has a diagnosis of Asperger's syndrome. They may be in school, at home, in a residential setting, or in after school activities. The aim of the course is to understand how a diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome is reached, to find out what Asperger's Syndrome is and how it affects the child, to address the challenges facing children with Asperger's Syndrome and understant its sensory, motor control and emotional effects, as well as to identify the key areas of need for an individual and plan practical strategies on how to offer support.
