Resource Information
Description:
Psychosis usually starts when people are quite young. 80% of people being aged 16-30, but 5% may be 15 or younger. Psychosis is a serious condition that can impact on many aspects of a person's life, and can become more chronic and entrenched if timely support is not provided.
Early Intervention for Psychosis services (EIP) were first listed as a clinical priority in the NHS Plan, 2000, and are still listed as an existing commitment for the NHS within the current NHS Operating Framework.
