Research Summaries - young people's health and well-being
ChiMat is working with the Association of Young People’s Health (AYPH) to produce Research Summaries on key issues affecting young people’s health and well-being. These summaries will help promote evidence-based practice by making research findings more accessible.
Each Research Summary focuses on the key issues and trends in research and policy affecting young people’s health and well-being. They are a digest of the quarterly, more in-depth, AYPH Research Updates and have been tailored to ChiMat’s audience.

aged between 11 and 25 years. It is also a critical public health
issue. It reflects and creates emotional distress. What do we
know, and what can we do?

Research summary: adolescent ADHD
Attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is normally diagnosed in childhood, often during the primary school years. Much less attention is paid to what
happens next, as the children transfer into secondary school, and
then as people affected by ADHD transition from adolescent
services into adult provision. This update is about what happens
when young people with ADHD move through their second decade.

The short answer is, of course, that they have been both. This research summary attempts to pull together some themes emerging from the literature, presenting the main messages and a selection of the resources identified.
